Strong Branding — Your Secret Weapon in the SERP Wars:

Search Engine Results Pages, or SERPs as they’re commonly referred to in the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) industry, are battlegrounds filled with a staggering array of choices.  Directory listings, maps, local results, paid ads, infoboxes and more compete on each results page, fighting to grab visitors’ attention.

It’s definitely important to be on the first page of search results on popular search engines like Google.  (And Concept can help you get there!) But unfortunately, just showing up on the first page isn’t enough anymore.  There are simply too many distractions.  Even if you have the first local or organic result (or even the first paid result) — you’re still fighting against the best marketed competition to just be noticed.

This is where the importance of strong branding comes in.  A recent study by RED C Marketing (link below) found that 82% of customers will look around, even scroll down in the search engine results page to find a brand that they are already familiar with.  That’s right, if you have a solid brand and branding strategy and your SEO is good enough to get you on the first page of results, your customers will look for you!

Be the ones they’re looking for: Improving your brand

But how do you get to that level?  You need to step up your branding and marketing game!  Steve Jobs once said:

“Even a great brand needs investment and caring if it’s going to retain its relevance and vitality.”

So your six year old logo probably needs a good dust-up and revamp to begin with.  But branding is about much more than just having a flashy new logo or a catchy tagline.  It’s about establishing a consistent, trustworthy voice and visual style across TV, digital advertising, print, social media, and more.

Consider what you want people to think and how you want them to feel when they see your brand.  Then, try to think dispassionately about all of your marketing material and your current branding.  Does it enkindle those thoughts?  Would each piece individually make an outside observer feel all of those feelings?  If this is the first time you’ve really considered these questions, the answer is probably no.

We can help take your branding to the next level.

That’s where Concept comes in.  We’ve helped companies take their existing branding to the next level.   Like our work on Dalton, whose existing “Your comfort is our promise” slogan became the center of a successful campaign to win its customers’ hearts and minds.  The consistent message is clear — if you value your loved ones and their comfort, there isn’t even a choice to make.

There’s also our work redesigning the brand of Action Plumbing. As part of the revamp, we reworked its mascots, Action Man and Action Dog.  We truly brought them to life with fun and celebrity studded animated television commercials, online games, and a fun new website.  Through their consistent messaging across television, digital, and print, these characters brought instant recognition to the Action brand and immediately established it as a household name.

Now we want to do the same for you.  If you’d like to see your search engine traffic go up, and you have an inkling that your brand isn’t living up to its potential, drop us a line.  We’d love to hear from you!
